Welcome to our Ring Doorbell Support page—designed with homeowners in mind. Here, we focus on making your setup smooth, your usage confident, and your experience safe and simple.
Getting Started: Powering Your Ring
Before installation, make sure your Ring Doorbell is fully charged using the supplied orange USB cable.
- Charging Tip: The circular light on the front shows charge percentage.
- If you’re using the built-in battery (no wired doorbell), expect 6–12 months of use per charge.
- If you connect to an existing wired doorbell, Ring can use that as a continuous power source.
Note: Ring does not work with most intercom systems.
Step-by-Step Setup
1. Download the Ring App
- Visit ring.com/app to download.
- Create your account or sign in.
2. Add Your Doorbell
- Tap the “+” icon in the app.
- Select “Video Doorbell” and follow on-screen instructions.
- Have your Wi-Fi name and password ready.
3. Push to Test
- Press the doorbell button indoors first to check live video.
- Test again outside your front door.
- Poor video outside? Consider a Wi-Fi extender.
Mounting Your Ring
4. Remove Existing Doorbell (Optional)
If replacing a wired unit, turn off power at the breaker, remove the old doorbell, and detach wires.
5. Install the Mounting Bracket
- Use the provided level tool to align the bracket.
- Mark and drill four holes (anchors needed for stucco, brick, or concrete).
- Attach with screws (included).
6. Snap It In
- Line up Ring with the bracket, push firmly, then slide down until it clicks.
- Secure with star-shaped security screws underneath.
Tip: Don’t overtighten screws—keep it flush to the wall.
