Your 2GIG-SP2-GC3 keypad lets you control your home’s alarm system from a secondary location in your home — like a bedroom, hallway, or side entry. It mirrors the features of your 2GIG GC3 control panel so you can arm, disarm, and respond to alerts with ease. This guide explains exactly how to use each feature in clear, everyday language.

1. Arming and Disarming the System

These are the most used daily features — and they’re simple once you know how they work.

Arm Stay — For When You’re Home

What it does: Arms all perimeter sensors (doors, windows) but not motion detectors, so you can walk around inside without setting off the alarm.
When to use it: At night, or when you’re at home and want to feel secure without triggering motion sensors inside.

How to activate Arm Stay:

  1. Tap the screen to wake it.
  2. Tap the Arm Stay button.
  3. Enter your 4-digit user code.
  4. You’ll hear a confirmation beep or see “System Armed Stay.”

Your home is now protected, but you can still move around indoors.

Arm Away — For When You’re Leaving the House

What it does: Activates all sensors — including interior motion detectors. Use this when no one will be home.

How to activate Arm Away:

  1. Tap the Arm Away icon on the home screen.
  2. Enter your code.
  3. A countdown (usually 60 seconds) will begin.
  4. Leave the house before the timer ends.

If you return too soon, disarm the system before the timer ends to avoid a false alarm.

Disarm — When You Return Home
What it does: Deactivates the alarm system completely, allowing you to enter without triggering any alerts.

How to disarm:

  1. Tap Disarm on the home screen.
  2. Enter your user code.

You must disarm before the entry delay ends, or the siren may go off.

2. Using Emergency Functions

Your keypad has a built-in Emergency button that gives you access to immediate help — even if the system is disarmed.

How to trigger an emergency:

  1. Tap the red Emergency icon.
  2. Choose one of the three options: Police (Panic), Fire, or Medical.
  3. Tap and hold your desired option for 2 seconds.

The keypad will sound an alert and send a signal to your monitoring center (if monitoring is enabled). Use this only in actual emergencies.

3. Viewing Alerts, Alarms, and System Messages

The keypad keeps you informed of system status.

What you might see:

  • Green screen: All zones secure
  • Orange screen: Minor alert or system message
  • Red screen: Alarm condition or sensor triggered

To view details:

  1. Tap the bell icon at the top of the screen.
  2. Scroll through:
    • Alarms (e.g., a door opened while armed)
    • Alerts (e.g., low battery)
    • Messages (from your provider or system)

Some alerts may require your master code to dismiss.

4. Checking Zone Status (Open Windows, Doors, etc.)

You can check what’s open or closed before arming the system.

To check zone status:

  1. Tap the screen to wake it.
  2. Look for zone indicators (e.g., “Front Door – Open”).
  3. Tap the zone for more detail (depending on settings).

You won’t be able to arm the system if certain zones are open unless your system allows “force bypass.”

5. Pairing the SP2 Keypad with Your GC3 Panel

This is usually done by your installer, but here’s how to do it if needed.

To pair:

  1. Plug in your SP2 keypad and power it on.
  2. Connect it to your home’s Wi-Fi:
    • Tap the Wi-Fi icon.
    • Select your network and enter the password.
  3. On your GC3 main panel:
    • Go to Installer Toolbox > System Configuration > Keypads.
    • Select an available keypad slot and set it to Enabled.
    • Tap Pair Keypad on the GC3.
  4. On the SP2, tap Pair when prompted.

After pairing, the SP2 will display the same interface as your GC3 panel.

6. Mounting, Power, and Basic Maintenance

  • Power: Keep the SP2 plugged into the wall using the included AC adapter.
  • Mounting: Mount on a wall with three screws (template included) or place on a stand (sold separately).
  • Cleaning: Use a dry microfiber cloth. For smudges, lightly moisten the cloth — never spray directly onto the screen.

Clean the screen regularly to keep it readable and responsive.

Pro Tips for Everyday Use

  • Practice arming/disarming while the system is disarmed to build confidence.
  • Use Arm Stay at night for safety while sleeping.
  • Assign unique codes to each household member for tracking.
  • Install SP2 keypads near main entry/exit points like garage doors or bedrooms.
  • Keep your Wi-Fi connection strong for best performance with GC3 panels running firmware v3.0.2 or newer.
