Getting Started: Setup in Minutes
Step 1: Set Up in the App
Open the Ring app on your phone and tap the “+” to add a new device. Select Video Doorbell Pro, then follow the prompts.

Step 2: Install the Faceplate
Attach one of the included faceplates using the star-shaped end of the Ring screwdriver and secure it with the provided security screw.

Live Video on Demand
Tap Live View in the Ring app to see what’s happening at your front door—anytime.
- Great for checking packages or unexpected visitors
- Works with Wi-Fi and wired connections
- Accessible from anywhere via the app
Tip: Use zoom gestures to get a closer look during live view.
Motion Detection (Optional, Customizable)
Motion detection is off by default, but you can turn it on and customize the motion zones.
- Go to Motion Settings in the app
- Draw activity zones
- Set sensitivity to control what triggers alerts
Why it matters: Prevents false alarms and ensures you only get alerts that matter.
Shared Users
Let trusted family or friends answer the door or view recordings.
- Go to Shared Users in the app
- Enter their email address
- They’ll receive an invite to join your Ring system
Great for households, roommates, or business teams.
Cloud Video Recording
Enable optional cloud recording to save video clips for future viewing.
- Watch, download, or share videos from the Ring app or ring.com/activity
- Recordings include rings and motion events
- Works across all your Ring devices
Perfect for evidence, deliveries, or keeping tabs while away.
Answer the Door Like a Pro
When someone rings your doorbell or motion is detected:
- Mute or unmute sound
- Enable or disable your microphone
- Zoom in/out on the video
- Access Ring Plus features (if available)
All actions happen inside the Ring app, with simple on-screen controls.
